Semer Water is the Dales' largest natural lake. It has a surface area of around 90 acres and is 45' deep in some areas. The area is full of wildlife and many species of birds during the summer months. Land reclamation work in 1937 uncovered the remains of a prehistoric lake village, which could have been destroyed by a sudden flood.

The remains of Stalling Bus old church which dates back to 1722! The church was still in use in the early 20th century but was in a poor state of repair. When St Matthew's church was built in Stalling Busk (1908-09) it fell into disuse and the roof was stripped.
